The Stellenbosch Craft Beer Festival (SCBF), will take place on Saturday March 5, at the Jan Marais Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch.
Combining the best in local food, craft beer, craft gin and local entertainment, the event has gained a family of followers over the past eight years, and aims to present some of the latest and most loved craft brews at the upcoming event.
SCBF organiser, Dirkie van der Merwe, says: “After more than two years of the Covid pandemic restrictions, and even prohibition in SA, we as a beer-loving community are relishing the opportunity to celebrate being together again, and being able to crack a cold one with like-minded people under the 200-year old pine trees in the Jan Marais Nature Reserve.
Visitors are encouraged to test their palates and try new varieties.
This year the event will also for the first time include a non-
alcoholic cocktail bar, with a selection of fresh-pressed juice-based cocktails.
The SCBF is a family-friendly, day outing suitable for everyone. Take your friends and family and enjoy the food; beverages and live bands from noon to 7pm.
There will be ample seating and shade, but festival-goers are encouraged to take camping chairs, picnic blankets and beach umbrellas to get more comfortable.
Gates open at 11am and live music starts at around noon. Tickets are available online at Quicket.co.za and at the gate.
Online tickets cost R140 for an adult and a branded beer glass, adult and plastic cup tickets are priced at R120, children between the ages of 12 and 17 enter at R70, while children under 7 enter free. A R5 service fee is added to all online ticket sales.
Tickets at the gate cost R150.
Access to the event will be from the main entrance of the Jan Marais Nature Reserve, and ample parking is available on the gravel area on the Merriman side of the park.
Mr Van der Merwe adds: “We do, however, suggest that groups make use of carpool and ride-share facilities to avoid drinking and driving.
“We look forward to hosting a great event.”
