Stellenbosch Network, in collaboration with Stellenbosch University, Launchlab, Ranyaka, SCAN and the Department of Science and Innovation’s Regional Innovation Support Programme (RISP), is proud to announce the 2024 edition of their #IdeasForChange Challenge.
The theme for the #IdeasForChange challenge is social innovation with the aim of addressing the pressing social issues in Stellenbosch, specifically those relating to crime, safety, and infrastructure including transport, traffic, and mobility.
The Stellenbosch Network says the challenge will identify, support, and develop innovative ideas, business models, process flows, and technologies that have the potential to improve the quality of life for citizens, lessen the social and environmental impacts of rapid urban development, and increase the resilience of local ecosystems upon which Stellenbosch relies.
The challenge welcomes entries and participation from individuals residing, working, and studying in Stellenbosch and its surrounding areas.
Focus areas participants are encouraged to submit ideas or solutions on include Crime and Safety and infrastructure.
For Crime and Safety participants are encouraged to develop innovative solutions that address community safety, prevent crime, and enhance emergency response systems.
In relation to the infrastructure part of the entries, which relatee to traffic, transport and mobility participants should look at proposing solutions to mitigate traffic congestion, improve public transportation, and promote sustainable mobility options.

Entries for the #IdeasForChange Social Innovation Challenge close on Sunday June 30.
