Winemakers and industry enthusiasts are invited to the annual Sauvignon Blanc South Africa Seminar to take place at the Hazendal Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on Thursday November 21.
Attendees can expect to deep dive into the latest global trends, innovations, and techniques, with renowned experts from South Africa and Italy, sharing insights on various topics related to the Sauvignon Blanc industry.
Some of the contents of the programme will feature the chairperson of Sauvignon Blanc SA, RJ Botha, sharing information on the association’s activities; Dr Jeanne Brand from Stellenbosch University, introducing the first-ever aroma wheel crafted to capture the unique profile of South African Sauvignon Blanc; A panel discussion by winemakers, and many other programme presentations.
Presenting international industry knowledge and expertise will be Paolo Capra, Commercial Director at EVER srl in Italy, in his discussion, ‘Wine Learning’ while Luca Zucarello of Impronta Enologica, will discuss Italian terroirs and winemaking practices, complemented by a tasting of six Italian Sauvignon Blanc wines.
The programme also includes an informal tasting of the 2024 FNB Sauvignon Blanc SA Top 10 during lunch.
Pre-registration is required by Friday November 15, at https://sauvignonblanc.com/seminar. The registration fee is R1000 for members and R1200 for non-members, which include tea, coffee, lunch, and wine tastings.
Doors open at 7.40am with the programme commencing at 8.15am and concluding at 2pm.
