Qigong practice group is calling on interested parties to join the team on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in their Wellington studio.
The group operates on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of R50, according to spokeswoman Isabeau Joubert.
Qigong is a gentle, centuries-old practice that combines slow, mindful movement with coordinated breathing and focused awareness to cultivate balance and inner calm.
It is often described as moving meditation and is accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels because it’s low-impact and adaptable.
Regular practice encourages a shift from 'fight-or-flight' stress to relaxation, making it a practical tool for everyday resilience.
Research shows that Qigong can help reduce stress and anxiety, support mood regulation, improve balance and flexibility, and even strengthen immune function and sleep quality.
“Whether you are looking to unwind after a busy day, strengthen your sense of physical grounding, or simply try something nurturing, you are invited to join the weekly Qigong practice group,” said Ms Botha.
The studio is located at 5 Hoog Street, Wellington.
