The City said Lwandle library has resumed limited services, following an attempted break-in on Monday, August 11.
The perpetrators gained access through the ceiling to bypass the alarm and ripped out electrical wires, the City previously said in a statement.
Their actions not only affected the electricity supply to the building but also damaged water pipes, which resulted in flooding.
While electricity and water supply have not been fully restored, the following limited services are available:
"Services that are dependent on electricity supply can only be reinstated once the electricity is restored. This includes access to the SmartCape facilities. The City appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as repairs continue to restore normal operations," said Francine Higham, mayoral committee member for community services and health.
