Three of Cape Town’s versatile musicians, soprano Louise Howlett, violinist Elina Koytcheva, and pianist Albert Combrink will come together to bring audiences an evocative programme inspired by Paris on Sunday, September 21.
The Helderberg Village Music Society will be hosting this concert of romance and charm, which is themed Under Paris Skies with the Cadillac Trio.
The evening will include works by Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Piazzolla, and Piaf, alongside Broadway favourites such as I Dreamed a Dream and Music of the Night.
The Cadillac Trio has built a reputation for imaginative programming that moves across classical, jazz, tango, and popular songs. Together, these artists will take listeners on a musical journey from the salons of Belle Époque Paris to the cabarets of Montmartre.
Soprano Howlett is widely admired for her ability to move effortlessly between opera, jazz, and musical theatre, and is also a presenter on Fine Music Radio, while violinist Elina Koytcheva, who trained in Bulgaria and the Netherlands before settling in Cape Town, has performed regularly with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has shared the stage with international stars such as Andrea Bocelli and George Benson.
Pianist Albert Combrink is a performer, teacher, and music historian, known in genres from opera to tango, and for collaborations with South Africa’s leading singers.
Booking is essential for this concert. The tickets cost R130 at Quicket, and the venue will be Talani Terrace. The concert will start at 4pm.
