Cape Town is gearing up for another thrilling edition of the Cape Town Cycle Tour on Sunday, 9 March, as thousands of cyclists take to the city’s iconic roads.
Beyond being a highlight of the global sporting calendar, this event is a celebration of endurance, camaraderie, and the unwavering support of spectators who line the route, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of energy and excitement.
As the official hydration partner, Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages (CCPB) continues its nearly 25-year partnership with The Cycle Tour Trust, ensuring riders stay refreshed and fuelled throughout the race.
More than 50,000kg of ice will be used to chill a staggering 100,000 litres of water, alongside 30,000 litres each of Powerade, Coca-Cola, and Coca-Cola No Sugar at 16 strategically placed hydration stations.

These crucial stops will help cyclists push through the gruelling kilometres ahead.“This event is a true testament to the incredible spirit of Cape Town – from the cyclists who train for months to the supporters who create an electric atmosphere on race day,” says Marc Odendaal, Commercial Sports and Marketing Assets Lead for CCPB.
“As a company deeply invested in the region, we are proud to support not just the athletes, but the communities that make events like these possible.”
Sustainability remains a priority, with CCPB ensuring that all packaging at hydration stations is collected and recycled responsibly. By working closely with the City of Cape Town and other local partners, the goal is to leave as small a footprint as possible while making a big impact on hydration and support.
But this year, the race isn’t just about physical endurance—it’s about rhythm, energy, and a powerful message of empowerment. The Bridges for Music Academy (BFM) is making its highly anticipated return to the Cape Town Cycle Tour in 2025, bringing electrifying beats to the racecourse.
Alumni from the academy will be stationed at four key stops along the route, curating pulsating soundscapes to keep cyclists motivated as they power through to the finish line. This initiative is part of BFM’s Industry Access Program, a platform dedicated to providing graduates with real-world industry experience and sustainable income opportunities.
In a country where youth unemployment remains a critical challenge, Bridges for Music is proud to empower its students by bridging the gap between talent and opportunity within the music and events industry.
A Decade of Impact Through Music Marking its 12th anniversary in 2025, Bridges for Music has played a pivotal role in using music as a catalyst for education and transformation in underserved communities.
Founded by a collective of local and international music industry leaders, the non-profit organization has provided young creatives with mentorship, tools, and access to industry networks to help them thrive.
Over the years, BFM has attracted global icons such as Ed Sheeran, Skrillex, and Bonobo, alongside South African heavyweights like Black Coffee, Zolani Mahola, and Zakes Bantwini, to host educational workshops in townships including Langa, Soweto, Gugulethu, and Khayelitsha.
These workshops not only offer world-class mentorship but also foster cultural exchange, celebrating the rich heritage of South Africa’s creative communities.
As Cape Town prepares to once again showcase its blend of athleticism and artistry, Bridges for Music invites cyclists, media, organizations, and brands to join its mission.
By supporting the next generation of music industry leaders, the impact of the Cape Town Cycle Tour will extend far beyond the racecourse—creating lasting change, one beat at a time.
