Heart of the Helderberg launch

Several leading hospitality establishments in Somerset West are working together to raise awareness of the wonderful offerings available for visitors and locals to enjoy in the Helderberg region.

The district takes its name from the Helderberg Mountain, which provides an imposing backdrop to an area steeped in history and beauty.

Vergelegen, Lourensford, Morgenster and Erinvale estates recently invited tourism and media representatives to enjoy the best of their hospitality.

The jam-packed tour of the four estates showcased outstanding products and services such as delicious cuisine, award-winning wines, homegrown olive oils, local beers and gin.

The hospitality offerings include luxurious accommodation, beauty and wellness treatments, conference facilities, guided environmental, garden and cellar tours and exquisite gardens, plus a state-of-the-art golf course. The Strand beaches are less than 10 kilometres from Somerset West.

“It’s important to collaborate as a region, in order to make more people aware of Just how much there is to experience in this easy-to-reach destination, less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town,” said Vergelegen MD Wayne Coetzer.

“We want to spread the word that visitors can enjoy the very best of the Western Cape right here in the heart of the Helderberg.”
