Con Spirito Philharmonic to perform works by Mendelssohn

Con Spirito Philharmonic (CSP) will perform works by Mendelssohn at the DRC Uitsig, in Bellville, on Saturday October 28, starting at 4pm because of the Rugby World Cup finals that evening.

They will present Jeffrey Armstrong as soloist in the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Currently studying at the Hochschule for Music in Hannover, Jeffrey recently performed Matthijs van Dijk’s Violin Concerto with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO).

Frank Pietersen Music Centre Choir joins CSP in Mendelssohn’s Psalm 95 and extracts from his Lobgesang and Elijah.

Soloists are Elsabé Richter, Lente Louw, and Blaine Josephs.

The Hebrides Overture opens the programme.
