Showcase of popular ballads and standards

Carly Barendilla recently graduated with a B.Mus Degree in Jazz Studies at the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town.

Carly Barendilla, Marzia Barry and Ethan Tobin will present a showcase of popular ballads and standards on Sunday September 1 at Christ Church Constantia, at 3pm.

Singer Cindy Gibbons will also make a guest appearance. The singers will be accompanied by a five-piece band led by guitarist maestro Keith Tabisher with Marlon Williams on bass, Adam Powell on keyboards, Matt Keswell on drums and Matthew Reid saxophone.

The playlist includes The Girl from Ipanema (Carlos Jobim), Don't Know Why (Nora Jones), Home (Michael Buble), You've Got a Friend (Carole King), Gravity (John Mayer), All of Me and Body and Soul (Sarah Vaughan) and Put Your Records On (Corinne Bailey).

Tickets cost R160 through Quicket, at the door or by calling Anne on 082 218 0100.
