The Rumours of Fleetwood Mac tribute show is coming to Stellenbosch on Saturday, November 22.
This show is centred around one of Fleetwood Mac rock band’s most successful albums Rumours (1977), which spent 31 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard charts. The album is widely regarded as having cemented Fleetwood Mac’s status as one of the great rock bands.
Featuring a full band made up of some of Cape Town's top musicians, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac takes the audience into a classic time capsule of memories, with tracks like Go Your Own Way, Don’t Stop, Dreams, Everywhere and Second Hand News.
Skye Wilson, who is the lead vocalist, formed The Sunshines music band with Greg Schoeman in 1993. The Sunshines recorded and independently released their debut album, Removable Tattoos, at Shifty Records in 1994 and dominated national and regional airwaves with hits such as Wanna Make Love, Happy Person, and Judy.
The drummer, Matt Catto, was born in Johannesburg into the Blundell musical folk dynasty. After moving to Cape Town in 1999, Mr Catto helped form a band with his brother Nick in 2001.
“My earliest memories are of family sing-alongs, barn dances with many of the big folk music personalities of the time coming around to the house for visits/rehearsals,” he said.
Other musicians who will feature in the show include electric guitarist Greg Schoeman, keyboard player Wendy Van Rensburg, singer Sarah McArthur, and vocalist Guido Helm.
The show will take place from 6pm to 10.30pm at the Asara Wine Estate & Hotel in Stellenbosch. The tickets cost R390 at Quicket
