Here be Dragons will stream their pre-recorded show online, from Friday July 24 to Monday July 27. The five-piece group will transport music lovers into a time long forgotten, subtly educating its audience on how folk music influenced art music (and vice versa) since the 16th century. The group travels across Europe combining unexpected musical styles, influences and instrumentation while delivering instrumental performances, contrasting a selection of compositions by renowned composers with original songs by bandleader, composer and musician Jan-Hendrik Harley. Tickets cost R120 from Webtickets, and once bought, ticket holders can watch (and re-watch) the show anytime between Friday July 24 at 7pm and Monday July 27 at noon. There is also an option to leave a donation, which, while not mandatory, would go a long way in supporting everyone who made this production possible. The band consists of Jan-Hendrik Harley (violin/viola/5-course guitar/mandolin and direction), Mariechen Meyer (double bass), John Pringle (percussion), Annien Shaw (violin), and Joshua Frank (recorders).
