Jazz festival

 The 5th South African Association for Jazz Education jazz festival takes place from Friday April 28 to Sunday April 30 at the Reeler Theatre, Rondebosch Boys’ High School, Canigou Avenue, Rondebosch. The line-up includes the Bokani Dyer Trio; bassist Romy Brauteseth and drummer Sphelelo Mazibuko; bassist Carlo Mombelli, pictured, and pianist Kyle Shepherd; guitarist Mageshen Naidoo and pianist Roland Moses. International guests include guitarist Roberto Zechini; trumpeter Gordon Vernick and accordionist Guilherme Ribeiro. Concert tickets cost R100 or R60 for students and pensioners and are available through www.quicket.co.za or at the door. Workshops cost R120 for the day or R30 per workshop.
