A motorist sustained serious injuries after his vehicle crashed down the mountain near Steenbras Dam in Mountainside in Gordons Bay, this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 10am to find the Western Cape Fire and Gordons Bay EMS already in attendance. Both services had already made their way down to the vehicle and had extricated the man, believed to be in his 60s.
The man was in a critical condition, having sustained several serious injuries.
He was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
The cause of the accident remains unclear.
