The Friends of Parow Library’s annual Pink Raffle fund-raiser is taking place until the end of October.
The Friends of Parow Library is asking the public to support its annual Pink Raffle to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa’s Cuppa for Cansa campaign.
“The Cuppa for Cansa campaign is aimed at keeping Cansa's nine mobile health clinics on the road,” said Keanan McArthur, of the Friends.
“The clinics travel to remote areas throughout South Africa to make people aware of the benefit of early detection and provide cancer education and screening.”
The Friends of Parow Library is run by volunteers who help to raise funds for the library, and the raffle started six years ago.
“A raffle entry is R10 and people can contribute by coming to the library and signing up for the raffle. We are hoping to raise around R1500 and the raffle is until Tuesday October 31,” Mr McArthur said.
The Friends of Parow Library will also hold a cupcake sale on Saturday October 28 in aid of Cansa. Each cupcake will sell for R10.
