The Rose Terrace Tea Room, which offers a delightful escape into a world of floral elegance and delectable treats, has just opened its doors at the Vergelegen wine estate in Somerset West.
Described in a release by the estate as a charming new attraction for breakfast, tea and light lunch, the venue caters for all enthusiasts visiting the historic estate.
Guests will find themselves surrounded by floral ambiance as The Rose Terrace is perfectly located beside a glorious rose garden near the camphor tree forest. The roses’ breathtaking beauty creates a serene, scented atmosphere.
Furthermore, tea lovers are spoiled for choice with a wide selection of teas to choose from including popular blends such as Ceylon, Earl Grey, mint, chamomile and rooibos.
For the sweet-tooth visitors there will be ample delectable cake creations to satisfy your cravings with an ever-changing range of cakes, from traditional favourites to innovative one-of-a-kind creations. The menu includes a gluten-free cake, scones and clotted cream, plus a tart of the day.
Then the savoury menu is another highlight for visitors, with savoury specials that include items such as croque monsieur (the ultimate ham and cheese sandwich), smoked salmon bagel, quiches, pork pie with piccalilli and Waldorf salad, as well as coronation chicken open sandwiches.
Apart from the delectable items on the menu, the scenery at The Rose Terrace makes it the perfect place for a relaxed gathering of friends, or a soothing solo retreat.
Guests have the option of choosing between indoor and outdoor seating. Visit the estate located in Lourensford Road, Somerset West. Entry fees to the estate are R20 for adults and R10 for pensioners and scholars.
