New Grade 8 pupils at Paul Roos Gymnasium attended a full Orientation Day programme which started on Tuesday January 16 and stretched over four days. The first day included a welcoming ceremony, discussions on the school’s value and traditions, sport and cultural activities and learning the school anthem. The orientation program concluded with Grade 8 students signing their names in the Paul Roos Book, receiving ties and year hats, and participating in their first ‘Jolla Bolla’.

Other activities included a drumline demonstration, a session on social media etiquette, meeting of mentors, sing-songs with cheerleaders, a braai, a video presentation on proper conduct towards women, and lessons on ‘Jolla Bollas’ and practising on the soccer field.
One of the orientation activities involved the Grade 12 pupils taking the newbies on a journey to the First Cross where a bible reading was conducted. Later that day the new students enjoyed their first official PRG sing-songs session.
