Helderberg Hospice have been the lucky recipients of exquisite quilts from the Helderberg Quilters Guild.
Karin Gordon and Louise Smith of Helderberg Hospice were invited to the meeting of the Guild at the Coronation Street Methodist Church last week.
They addressed the members about the work that Helderberg Hospice does, and were presented with quilts for all the Support Centre beds.
The centre is a 10-bed, 24-hour unit which offers transitional care to patients in need of extra symptom control and palliative care, and the wards offer a warm, attractive home-from-home setting.
The quilts will add to the sense of peace and comfort that the palliative care clinical team give to patients and their loved ones.
The Helderberg Quilters Guild is a very active group of talented needleworkers, and they create masterful artworks and share their talent generously with organisations in the Helderberg Basin.
Patients of Helderberg Hospice will benefit from this wonderful donation for years to come, said Louise.
