Paul Roos pupils fair well in various sport codes

Pupils at the Paul Roos Gymnasium (PRG) school in Stellenbosch has faired well in various sporting codes this term. The school shared some of these outstanding achievements. Starting off with the cricket team’s win, with the under-19A cricket team of Paul Roos competing in Pretoria against St Alban’s College and triumphed in the match, beating the 19A team with 8 wickets.

In the swimming pool, the under-14A PRG water polo team won an impressive silver medal at the recently hosted Rondebosch Boys’ High annual Water Polo Tournament.
Pupil Thomas van der Merwe represented the under-17 South African National Modern Pentathlon team in swimming, laser and pistol shooting, fencing, the obstacle course and cross country earlier this month. Thomas will now go on to represent South Africa at the under-17 World Championships in Portugal later this year.
MTB riders in the under-16 category excelled in the Western Cape School XCO league race at Bloemendal on September 14, pictured, from left, are first place winner, Neil van der Vyver; Benjamin Fourie in second place; Connor Kitching in third place and Christiaan Koegelenberg, in fifth place.
