Fun day promotes disability inclusion

OWN Correspondent|Published

Members of Somerset West-based NPO Senecio attended a fun day of games and activities in Villiersdorp together with five other disability centres based in the Western Cape, on Heritage Day, Tuesday September 24. Senecio led the inclusive activities such as wheelchair obstacle courses and crutch races, where both disabled and able-bodied people took part, all to promote and raise awareness about disability inclusion. Pictured above are some of the Senecio members showing off their skills in the wheelchair obstacle course.

The Senecio wheelchair obstacle course winners are in high spirits after winning the trophy. The organisation reminds the public of the upcoming World Occupational Therapy Day on Sunday October 27. In line with the theme for the day, “Occupational Therapy for All”, Senecio encourages the public to this month become involved in activities which reflect the important role of occupational therapy for persons with disabilities.
