The Helderberg Village Music Society will present a concert of chamber music on Sunday July 20, at Talani Terrace in Helderberg Village, Somerset West.
The programme will feature pianist Esthea Kruger, violinist Annien Shaw, and clarinettist Annelize de Villiers.
Esthea Kruger is a senior lecturer at the South African College of Music. She completed her doctoral studies in the United States under pianist Vladimir Viardo and holds double master’s qualifications in solo performance and Lied accompaniment from European institutions. She has performed locally and abroad, including at the Davos Festival in Switzerland.
Dr Annien Shaw holds a PhD in Performance Practice from the University of Cape Town and performance diplomas from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. She has toured internationally, led chamber ensembles, and lectures at Stellenbosch University.
Annelize de Villiers studied in Switzerland with clarinettist Frédéric Rapin and has performed across Europe in chamber and theatrical productions. Her work includes performances on modern, bass, and historical clarinet.
The programme includes Grieg’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3 in C minor, Rózsa Kokai’s Hungarian Dances, and Khachaturian’s Trio for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano.
The concert will begin at 4pm, with doors opening at 3.30pm. Tickets cost R130 and are available through Quicket. Booking is essential for access to Helderberg Village.
