Helderberg Hospice is calling on the community to consider leaving a legacy gift in support of its patients during National Wills Week, observed from Monday, September 15 to Friday, September 19.

“These gifts sustain the organisation’s essential work, ensuring hospice care remains available for future generations in need,” said Louise Smith, head of resources development.

Chief executive Robert de Wet added that as part of Helderberg Hospice’s holistic hospice and palliative care, social workers also assist patients and their families with practical matters – including making sure that vital documents, such as wills, are in order.

To assist families, the organisation has created free information packs to help gather important personal details.
