Patch Helderberg, a child abuse centre in Somerset West, has called on businesses to join its #Powerof100 campaign, aimed at supporting survivors of sexual abuse.

The organisation’s approach includes forensic investigations into allegations of sexual abuse, therapeutic services, court preparation, and a 24-hour service for new referrals and medical support.

It has launched the #Powerof100 campaign to reach 100 local businesses that will help to heal survivors and thwart cycles of abuse.  “Donor businesses would contribute R10,000 per year and be recognised as a part of the Power of 100 Club and as a child protection champion. They also receive a Section 18A Certificate (tax deductible)," said Cate Babette, a representative of Patch Helderberg.

“This money would fund Patch's continued operations and critical services, including forensic assessments, crisis care, court training and preparation, as well as trauma therapy. Every donation directly supports children in the Helderberg region. A child's recovery cannot happen in isolation, but with the help of many.”
