Somerset West Police are investigating a murder case after a 43-year-old woman was gunned down on Tuesday morning, October 28.
Her body was discovered inside her vehicle just before 8am, according to police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk.
“The deceased was found fatally wounded in her vehicle on Winery Road, Somerset West. The circumstances surrounding this shooting incident are under investigation. The motive forms part of police investigations,” he said.

This shooting incident came three weeks after the body of a 27-year-old man was discovered inside his vehicle at the parking area of the Melksloot Village shopping centre in Somerset West on Monday morning, October 6. The man was found with an open wound to his head at about 8.45am, police said at the time.
According to statistics for the Western Cape, the Somerset West area does not appear to be a murder hotspot.
