Cloetesville police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting incident in North End Street on Sunday evening, December 7, that left two children and an adult injured.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said the children, aged four and seven, were wounded along with an adult man during the incident.
He added that officers used informer networks and gathered witness statements in their efforts to track down the suspects.
"The members followed up on all the information they gathered on the whereabouts of the suspects, and their determination to bring the suspects to book was rewarded when they arrested them within two hours after the shooting incident occurred. The two suspects, aged 27 and 31, face charges of attempted murder," he said.
The suspects will appear in the Stellenbosch Magistrates’ Court once they have been formally charged.
Western Cape provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile praised the officers for their quick response and dedication to bringing the suspects to justice.
