Aanhou-Wen Work & Care Centre for Adults with Disabilities recently opened the newly-refurbished Green Door Thrift Shop in Somerset West.
The organisation was established in 1986 as a caring facility for adults with disabilities, and now operates as a protective workshop for adults with disabilities who attend the centre daily.
Some of the work programmes include life skills development, woodwork, sewing, crafts, gardening, contract work, and community outreach projects.
The charity shop had a complete makeover and has a wide array of clothing, ceramics, children’s books, homeware, and bric-a-brac.
To find out more, or to donate items, contact the centre at 021 851 3798 or email aanhouwen@telkomsa.net.
