Strand Community Day Centre staff spread festive cheer last week by hosting their annual Adopt a Grandma Christmas lunch, an initiative aimed at supporting elderly residents who regularly attend the clinic.
The event took place on Wednesday, December 10, at a department store in Strand and formed part of the clinic’s Christmas Lunch campaign. Ten elderly women, affectionately known as the clinic’s “adopted grandmas”, were treated to a special meal and a day of appreciation.
Operational manager Sumaya Yacoob expressed gratitude to the department store for providing the venue and meals, as well as to clinic staff, families, and friends who contributed to the preparations.
