Gordon's Bay triple murder: Four suspects questioned by police

Four persons of interest have been taken in for questioning in connection with a brutal triple murder in Gordon’s Bay.

Three men between the ages of 40 and 45 years were gunned down while seated inside a white Toyota vehicle in the parking lot at Gordon’s Bay Mall around 9.30pm on Tuesday night.

Police believe that the motive for the attack is a gang-related incident.

According to police information, the men were approached by gunmen who fired multiple shots, killing all three before fleeing the scene in their vehicle. 

The trio were declared deceased on the scene, with two found inside the vehicle and the body of the other found lying on the pavement

Gordon’s Bay police have registered three murder cases for investigation.

Police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala confirmed that police have made a breakthrough in the case and have taken four persons in for questioning. However, no arrests have been made yet.

Constable Gwala confirmed: “Kindly be advised that four people of interest have been taken in for questioning; no arrest has been made yet. Investigation continues.”

Brigadier Novela Potelwa reported earlier: “Official reports indicate that the deceased men were in the parking lot at Gordon’s Bay Mall at approximately 9.30pm when unknown gunmen travelling in a vehicle approached them, and shots were fired.

"Two victims died inside the vehicle, and another outside the car. The suspects later fled in their vehicle. Gordon’s Bay police have registered a triple murder docket for investigation. The incident is believed to be gang-related.”
