Bush blaze

Mark Raubenheimer shared this photograph taken during last Friday’s bush fire near the Stellenbosch Airfield and De Zalze Estate, which also threatened neighbouring smallholdings. “Fortunately, the south-easterly wind, as well as the efforts from the local fire department, kept the fire from causing any major property damage, that I know of, apart from one house in De Zalze,” said Mr Raubenheimer.
