Nandi Drive near Kew Road in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal has been closed off to traffic after four suspects were shot on Friday.
According to Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS paramedics, the violent skirmish resulted in the death of one suspect at the scene. Three others sustained serious gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital under police guard.
Jamieson added that police have cordoned off the area to facilitate a thorough investigation, leaving motorists to navigate alternate routes as the investigation unfolds.
"We advise motorists to avoid the area at all costs because this will be active for some time," he said.
Jamieson said the motive for the shooting is still not known.
