A sophisticated hydroponic dagga lab, along with dagga plants, pre-rolled dagga cigarettes, and various rounds of ammunition, was uncovered during a SAPS Drug Task Team raid in Wilgeboom, Potchefstroom.

A husband and wife were arrested following a SAPS Drug Task Team operation at a smallholding in Wilgeboom, Potchefstroom, where a substantial amount of illegal ammunition and an advanced hydroponic dagga lab were discovered.
The search and seizure operation, conducted on Friday, March 7, was backed by a warrant and executed with the assistance of the Potchefstroom Flying Squad.
Officers uncovered a stockpile of assorted ammunition along with a sophisticated dagga-growing operation, which included dagga plants and pre-rolled dagga cigarettes.
The estimated street value of the seized drugs has yet to be determined.
"Investigation into the matter including the processing of the crime scene by a Forensic team is underway," said police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh
The suspects, a 38-year-old man and his 36-year-old wife, are scheduled to appear before the Potchefstroom Magistrate's Court on Monday, March 10.
They will face charges of unlawful possession of ammunition as well as cultivating and dealing in dagga.
Acting police commissioner major general Patrick Asaneng, commended the team for the successful operation, emphasizing that law enforcement remains committed to dismantling illegal drug networks saying that this will send out a strong message that crime does not pay, and police will continue to work hard to curb drug peddling and rid communities of drugs.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any criminal activity to the police.
