Volunteers are a very precious commodity in the day-to-day business of Helderberg Hospice.

Once a year, a get together of the volunteers from the many different volunteer groups is held.

Over a cup of tea or coffee, with delicious snacks and dainties to nibble on, volunteers were celebrated and honoured on Tuesday March 1.

A palpable sense of camaraderie and common purpose was felt by all the attendees, and that is to make a difference in the lives of those in the Helderberg living with a life limiting illness.

Sad goodbyes took place, with some volunteers retiring, and others were celebrated for extraordinary lengths of service.

Every single volunteer was valued for the indispensable role they play in Helderberg Hospice.
