Margaret’s a hero(ine)

Margaret Palmer is Helderberg Hospice’s Women’s Month Hero. She has been a volunteer at the Hospice shop for six years, having previously been a volunteer at Overstrand Hospice for five years.

She is an active, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her energy leaves people half her age gasping for air – no mean feat as she turned 89 years young on Saturday August 15.

Margaret’s latest achievement is by far “Simply the Best” – she has beaten Covid-19! For this energetic, lovable social butterfly, the worst part of being hospitalised with Covid-19 was the isolation.

Helderberg Hospice wishes Margaret well and is delighted with her inspiring recovery, wishes her a happy birthday, and is

looking forward to having her back in the shop.
