Professor Gavin Maneveld will be hosted by the Hottentots Holland Garden Club at their meeting next week.
Marine biology will be the topic of choice at the next meeting of the Hottentots Holland Garden Club.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday June 12, at 09.30am for 10am at the Hottentots Holland Dutch Reformed Church off Gordon Road in Somerset West.
Garden club members enter free(membership is R110 per year) and visitors pay R30 entry.
Marine Biologist, Professor Gavin Maneveld, who has a special interests in the global ecology and naming of non-geniculate coralline red algae, will be the speaker.
Professor Maneveld, whose research focuses on documenting and understanding patterns of intertidal seaweed diversity, will at the meeting talk and elaborate on the topic, Botanic encounters of a marine kind.
