On Friday October 25, Smart Living outreach programme from the City of Cape Town, took 240 pupils from Christmas Tinto Primary School in Asanda Village, Strand, to the Strand beach for an educational nature and marine conservation programme. The day’s programme included presentations on nature and marine conservation. Lisa Starr from the Helderberg Ocean Awareness Movement, says her presentation touched on keeping the environment clean, waste and energy reduction, protecting and respecting nature, as well as a beach clean-up. Bingo encouraged the pupils to put their litter in the Bingo bin and by doing this, ensure their environment and beaches are kept clean.
