Expect to be wowed with the Robertson Wine Valley’s 13 annual Wacky Wine Weekend – showcasing more than 40 wine estates, boutique wineries and tourism establishments, from the Ashton, Bonnievale, McGregor and Robertson region – from tomorrow, Thursday June 2 to Sunday June 5.
Those with a passion for winecn explore all that the wine estates, boutique wineries and tourist establishments have to offer – meet the winemakers, discover the story behind the bottle and explore a valley filled with country charm.
Local charities are supported through our festival, and the organisers are committed to creating local job opportunities and supporting local businesses.
The new coupon system consists of six free wine tastings a winery, which gives festival-goers the opportunity to explore more wineries and enjoy a variety of wine tastings.
Create your own picnic basket by choosing local olives, cheese, charcuterie and preserves from the delis. Warm up with hearty soups, roosterkoeke and vetkoeke, freshly-baked bread with home-made jams. Indulge in farm style breakfasts, fresh produce and family recipe dishes – from canape´s, gourmet platters to locally made treats, there will be something to enjoy for everyone.
For music enthusiasts enjoy live music such as Afrikaans, blues, folk, country and classic and featuring artists Karen Zoid, Manouche, Bottomless Coffee, local artists and more. Multiple outdoor adventures such as golf, horseshoe throw, vineyard trail run, colour run, mountain bike rides, shot for shot chip challenges to name a few.
There are events for the whole family from jungle gyms, ball sports, jumping castles and giant chess to face painting, petting zoo, tractor rides and even non-alcoholic food and wine pairings.
A zero tolerance policy will be upheld with regards to drinking and driving. Assign a designated driver, support local taxi’s or book shuttles.
