A draw, two wins, two losses… That is how life at Manchester United began for new boy, Ruben Amorim.
Not the results we expected, but if you are true supporter, you will look beyond results these days when it comes to this club.
Manchester United was destroyed when Sir Alex Ferguson left his club perch without a proper succession plan. He is not to blame though, as the man can only be hailed for what he has achieved, basically edging his name in among the great Premier League managers.
He left a difficult road to follow, and thus far, no one has managed to make this club a happy place again. Since his departure, the cracks have widened and all we see is doom and gloom, at a club that once oozed champion blood, a club that the world feared and respected — fearfully facing us as if though their lives were in jeopardy.
I recently read a post which said: “Manchester United have become equivalent to the likes of Brentford and Nottingham, screaming promise, but has miles to go before they reach the top.”
I sadly agree and we have not shown any signs of competing for a league.
Things have been tough, with several managers having given it a go and failing. Ruben now has a chance to steer the ship in a direction we hope will take us to glory.
The man has faced his first five games, mixtures of fixtures. It was very unlucky to lose two games but we played very well and already we see the dynamic approach that Ruben is trying to bring.
I honestly think we messed up with Ruud van Nistelrooy though, who I felt has the heart of United and could have lead us to war on any day. I still feel the club should have allowed him on board as an assistant at least. But the club makes these decisions and don’t realise the ripple effect caused.
Breaking news this week with United’s Sporting Director, Dan Ashworth, departing his role after five months.
This is breaking as it took over a whole year to secure this man’s services, prying him away from the newly rich boys, but poor soccer team, Newcastle United.
Newcastle are a great example of you can have all the money in the world but you can still suck.
Anyway, we fought hard for Dan and he leaves after five months, which proves the backroom board is currently in shambles.
Maybe Christiano Ronaldo’s famous interview made sense, where he basically aired all United dirty laundry and we thought he was being a brat.
I apologise Christiano, we all should have listened. We listen and we no longer judge!
In the meanwhile, United fans, take it on the chin. Let those scousers enjoy their time at the top. After all, how long did it take them to get to enjoy that moment, how many changes in management?
Those are questions are for another day. We listen and we don’t judge!
