Daring jumps on display at Darkfest 2024

The annual Darkfest free ride mountain bike event took place at the Hellsend Dirt Compound, at Vuurberg farm in Stellenbosch, at the weekend. The best riders from around the world and South Africa executed a series massive jumps and high-risk tricks that left spectators in awe.

Hailing from Canberra, Australia, Harriet Burbidge-Smith, 27, has been an absolute star performer at Darkfest 2024. She started out as a BMX champ before moving over to MTB, where she became two-time amateur World Champion and an eight-time Australian Champion. Picture: Eric Palmer
