Holiday resorts within the Drakenstein municipality are open and ready to welcome holiday-makers this summer.

For families in search of safe, secure and well-maintained facilities the municipal-run resorts offer all of this and more, with affordable admission fees.

The Antoniesvlei Resort just outside of Wellington, offers braai facilities, day camping and tent camping options, three swimming pools, and play parks for the kids.

The resort’s facilities are open daily between 9am and 6pm. The entry fees are R30 for adults (16 to 59 years) and R20 a child (15 years and under).

Entry for the elderly (60 and over) is free with proof of ID. The entry cost per vehicle is R30.

“People arriving per bus need to book prior to the date of their visit,” says Riana Geldenhuys, spokesperson for the Drakenstein municipality.

The Saron Resort is another affordable family-friendly option to consider for fun and relaxation for the upcoming summer season.

The Saron Resort in Saron, offers day camping, tent camping, three swimming pools, and play parks.

The resort is open daily between 10am and 6pm. The entry costs are R30 for adults (16 to 59 years) and R20 a child (15 years and under). Entry for the elderly (60 and over) is free with proof of ID. The entry cost per vehicle is R30.

The Orleans Park in Paarl East offers braai facilities, day camping, tent camping, a splash park and play parks for children.

Orleans Park is open daily between 9am and 6pm. Entry costs R20 for adults (16 to 59 years) and R10 a child (15 years and under). Entry for the elderly (60 and over) is free with proof of ID. The entry cost per vehicle is R30.
